From the veterans to the contemporaries to the Cooperstown Hall of Famers, the Yankees stars did not leave any stone unturned to take their club to the summit. Their victory was very apparent since they had already establish themselves in the Major League Baseball as the most dominating club with the assistance of the players like Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Don Mattingly, Derek Jeter, Andy Pattite, Joe Torre (Yankees Current Coach), Casey Stengel (Former Yankees Coach), George Steinbrenner (owner of Yankees) etc. Casey Stengel formed a very potent squad in 1950s; precisely he polished the McCarthy era team. Stengel's squad won the World Series in his first five years as manager, 1949 through 1953. e helped the club to win 10 American League championships and seven World Series titles.

His powerful team was led by catcher Yogi Berra, outfielder Mickey Mantle and pitcher Whitey Ford. His manipulative use of platooning and aptitude to bring out the best from his players and to get the most out of average and slightly-above-average was noteworthy.

George Steinbrenner bought the club for $10 million on January 3, 1973 from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). He refurbished the Yankees stadium and gave it a modern look. He also employed and rusticated Billy Martin a number of times. He engaged in an altercation with star outfielder Reggie Jackson. The late 1970s is also defined by Jackson's three home runs in the sixth and final game of the 1977 World Series against three different Dodger pitchers which earned him the name “Mr. October.” The unfavorable judgments and bad fortune of the '80s and early '90s gradually started fading away when owner George Steinbrenner was suspended. The first noteworthy indication of success came in the 1994 season when, the club shifted its prominence from exchanging talent to developing talent through its farm system and then holding onto it. That season, the Yankees had the best record in the American League when the season was cut short by the players' strike.

The faculty of 1995 was replaced by Joe Torre. Torre’s discipline became apparent when he led the Yankees to a World Series victory in 1996, defeating the Atlanta Braves in six games. With the growth of players like Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and Bernie Williams, the club became the ruling team of the Major League.  The Yankees dynasty of 1990s ended when they lost the 2001 World Series. Moreover their quick expulsion from the 2002 playoffs made the Yankees pretty callous. They started making unnecessary changes in the team. The trend culminated when they procured Alex Rodriguez, in February 2004. They also procured Jason Giambi, Hideki Matsui, Gary Sheffield, Kevin Brown, and Javier Vazquez.

The Yankee are undoubtedly the “America’s team” with the largest market, highest revenues and the players par excellence. But their attitude to pay premium prices for top talent encourages players and their agents to demand unreasonably high amount but indeed it’s worth it. The individual contributions of these Hall of Famers brought, honor and excellence to the team. They played, managed and served the sport meticulously and helped the Yankees to rule the game and detain the Fall Classic title 26 times.
